Who is Emilia Clarke?

Emilia Clarke was born in London, England, and grew up in Berkshire. Clarke's father is a theatre sound engineer, her mother is a business woman, and her brother is studying politics. Clarke's interest in acting began at the age of three after seeing the musical Show Boat on which her father was working at the time. She was educated at St Edward's (2000–2005) and Rye St Antony before studying at Drama Centre London where she graduated in 2009.

The actress's big break came when she was cast as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones which is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. She was cast as a replacement to fellow British actress Tamzin Merchant who dropped out of the pilot for undisclosed reasons. The show debuted in April 2011 to positive reviews and was quickly picked up by the network for a second season. Clarke won the 2011 EWwy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Daenerys.

The crackdown comes after theatergoers snapped covert shots this week of Emilia Clarke, who appears nude on stage.Clarke, who stars as Holly Golightly, bares her moon and more, including her breasts, in a titillating bathtub scene. Ignoring strict rules against taking photos inside the Cort Theatre, patrons have been shamelessly shutterbugging the “Game of Thrones” actress with cellphones.

 

The production has released a statement Thursday threatening to evict any picture takers.The bathtub scene in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ is gorgeously done,” it noted. “Theatergoers are reminded that photography of any kind during the performance is strictly prohibited and offenders will be asked to leave the theater.” The show, which officially opens March 20, is based on the Truman Capote novel that became a hit Audrey Hepburn film. While there’s a bathtub scene in the book, adapter Richard Greenberg’s stage version expands Holly’s nudity. And no wonder why. Nudity always turns heads on

The play was rewritten for Broadway but the nude scene remained intact. According to one theater insider, Clarke isn’t phased by the nudity. “She’s been nude in ‘Game of Thrones,’” said the source.
